Joomla Simplicity template

This was a new template featuring rounded corners on the boxes and a "liquid" layout so it expands to the fit browser window no matter what the monitor resolution.  It comes with three colors and two presentations of the colors.  The sample site looks very pretty.

You can set your content into boxes with the style of your choosing and should be able to make it look very nice.

However, you still have to deal with Joomla under the pretty looks and that is not easy.  I spent 15-20 hours fooling around trying to set up menus, make pages look like I wanted, display test content properly etc.  It became clear it was going to require a lot more work to have anything useful.

A CMS is good because the content is separated from the links and all are controlled by external style sheets.  This data independence means you can change things independently and that's a good thing.  I understand the concept and can see its value.  I was not able to conquor the details though.  For the time being Joomla is on hold.
